2009 WPHS 1973-1977 Class Reunion Planning

Next Planning Meeting January 11, 2009 2PM-4PM

Recommended Date(s) 2009 Late September early October; need to consider community activities at that time as well WP Homecoming, Race for the Cure, Cattle Barren’s Ball, Halloween
Time of day for event – midday to evening – Important to be able to visit long periods or just stop by for those who have short period of time
Attire – casual
Facilities – Ginger Martin
Will gather info from the following to bring to the committee
1) Eddie Dean
2) Hampton Inn in Mesquite
3) Some type of lodge environment
Priority to decision
- overnight accommodations
- convenient transportation to and from
- flat screen viewing
- ability to maintain cost per person $20-$30

Activities / Entertainment –
1) ask Lonnie Cunningham about opening program for us and possibly Emceeing
2) Do you remember … orange juice cans, senior skits and school plays, shirt tail day, bicycle rodeo, preparing War Wagons and for the Christmas Parade
3) Dancing – DJ 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and possibly 90’s
4) Picture name tags
5) Submit pictures for video – bad pictures too
6) Outburst / charades
Advertising/Communications Teresa Newman will be our Communications Chair
Class member Contact Tanna Evans and Lenna Powers will chair
1973 – Tanna will contact Gil Hardy about 1973; ; Teresa will check with Lawana as Joel Hall is having a reunion next weekend
1974 – Ginger will get Tanna what PD has
1975 – Ginger will look for what she had at last multi-class reunion
1976 – Tanna will contact Debbie Tisdale for 1976
1977 – Tanna will see what she can find
Invite former teachers
Financing Ginger Martin and Tanna Evans
Ginger will open separate checking account as we begin to receive funds
Tanna Evans will review and sign off on accounting of funds
– consider offering “sponsorship tables” higher price will guarantee good seating
– consider sponsoring teacher or classmate
– don’t want funds to keep anyone away who wants to come will offer confidential sponsorship programs for those who might want to confidentially contribute for another class member

Welcome to WPHS 1973-77 reunion planners
This blog is for communicating between the reunion planners. Only reunion planners will be able to read this blog and post to it. We'll start with the core group and then add to it as needed.
Also, we can share documents through Google Documents. Go to Google, then click "Documents" at the top. You may need to create a Google account to log in, but there's no charge. Then, create a file on your computer, save it, then upload it to Google Documents. You'll be able to limit who has access to the document. That way, only reunion planners can see a document.
For example, Ginger has an excel file on income and another on expenses. She can upload them to Google Document, then limit them so only she and others on the financial committee can view them. She can create a list of contacts and committees and open it to everyone involved with planning the reunion. Then when I can't remember Len's phone number, I can look it up there. Hope that makes sense.
And hope the blog and the document sharing will help us in planning and organizing.
